"Downton Cayman"

So I guess we can officially call it a tradition since Cayman has had her picture made two years in a row at the original downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus Santa Claus!  After a 3rd attempt this week, this trip was less planned, but better executed.  We walked in, third in line, got to see Santa jingle in and get settled in for a long day of snuggling up to excited, panicked and/or in awestruck kiddos (wonder what kind of vitamins he takes this time of year, he should really let us in on the secret cocktail....sniffle) and away we went.  Not much hesitation at all.  Walked right up to him and let me plop her in his lap.  Hallelluah!

After Santa, we had a nice lunch at the little cafe there at Neiman's with friends Jordan and William.  They just happened to stroll in line behind us!  Cayman and William have been buddies via Play Group for a while, so his name may be familiar to you all.  After a lovely double-toddler lunch and a quick stroll through one of the new downtown parks, we headed home for a long Winter's nap!

This Christmas season has brought heavier hearts to many...

Mini Mug Sessions

I type this thinking, my goodness, this child is really growing up before our eyes.  Obviously, "Word of the Week Wednesdays" was a bad idea...unbeknownst to me, toddlers reach a point where they are saying / learning 100's of words a week.  There's just no telling what's going to pop out of their mouths next.  Oh well, I'm still shooting for a once a week updates...wish me luck and it's Wednesday again, so here goes.

Here is a little mini session taken after I discovered Cayman knew waaayyyy more words to "The Wheels on the Bus" since we sang it last.  She actually had to remind me of one of phrases...had totally forgotten "the horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep".  Guess they are practicing this one at school, ha!

Grams & PopPop's Toys!

We are spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Northwest Arkansas at Grams and PopPop's house.  Since we were here last, they have dug out lots more old treasures!  These toys bring back lots of good memories and they definitely don't make toys like this anymore!  Can not believe they are still mostly in one piece!  Pretty cool that we get to see our little one play with them.  Another big hit is the sticks, grass, leaves and rocks all around.  We don't get out much in Dallas...too many killer mosquitos...still...
And finally, we were blessed with a visit from Nanny (Cayman's Great Grandmother), Aunt Marylin and Uncle Frank!  So happy you guys were able to make the trip!

Happy Thanksgiving All!

Oh WoWwww!

We can tell the holidays are near, busy, busy busy!

"OH WOWWWW!" is Cayman's word this week.  She has said it for a long time, but quite often this past week.

We attended a birthday for our friend Emery last Saturday.  First face painting attempt was a flying success and Cayman was all about the bounce house!  It was nice little group of kids near her age, so she got to bounce herself instead of big kids bouncing her.
Minnie Mouse (Emery) turned 2!

Cayman's cousins from Georgia arrived last night and leave tomorrow, then the cousins from Houston are due in on Sunday.   Photos to come...hopefully.  I always have high hopes to get all together in a shot, but all know how that usually goes.

We are thankful for all of our dear family and friends (you)!

Happy Thanksgiving all!
